Our New Home
WINSTON-SALEM, NC, November 8, 2023 — Hispanic League is proud to announce its permanent home in Winston-Salem this November, marking a significant milestone in its mission to serve the local Hispanic and Latino community. The organization has secured a dedicated space within the newly constructed Senior Services Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness building, located at 114 W 30th Street in Winston-Salem, NC. This strategic move will enable the Hispanic League to provide a consistent and accessible location for the benefit of the local Hispanic and Latino community.
Having been an integral part of the Winston-Salem community for over three decades, the Hispanic League has often found itself moving its base of operations. Throughout its history, the organization has remained steadfast in its commitment to providing valuable resources and facilitating connections for Hispanic and Latino families in areas such as education, culture, health, and community.
LaVon Gray, a long-time Hispanic League board member and the chair of the Permanent Home committee, shared the organization's perspective on this achievement: "Over the next decade, we aim to strengthen our community, establish a reliable hub for our Hispanic and Latino residents, and foster closer collaborations with other organizations dedicated to building a stronger community in Winston-Salem. We are more dedicated than ever to enhancing the lives of every member of our Hispanic community." The new location features a fully-staffed reception area, designed to enhance convenience for local families seeking resources and available services. Additionally, the Hispanic League will have access to an in-house theater, a conference room, a technology lab, and co-community workspaces within the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness building.
"We are thrilled to symbolically cement our relationship with our incredible partners who will also be housed here. Many of the other tenants are long-term collaborators, and we work closely with them to meet the needs of our community," shared Carla Catalan Day, executive director of the Hispanic League. Hispanic League's permanent home signifies a new chapter in its history, a chapter dedicated to fostering the well-being and unity of the Hispanic and Latino community in Winston-Salem.
